High School Writing Workshop
This workshop treats writing as a process with drafts. Students leave with comments they can apply, not a rewritten essay in an adult voice.
Skills practiced
- A claim that a reader can disagree with.
- Evidence placed next to the claim, with a source note.
- Sentences that do one job each.
How feedback works
We mark two priorities per draft. Fixing everything at once usually fixes nothing. The next draft must show those two changes.
Academic honesty
We do not write the paper. We ask questions until the student’s own argument is visible.
